Sun Learning Results

Sun Learning Services in ANZ recently conducted a pilot 90 minute ‘Speed Thinking’ workshop. This was a complimentary ‘one-off’ program offered by Dr Ken Hudson, founder of The Speed Thinking Zone.

Many were intrigued by the program name and within day of the course being advertised, a record-breaking, 26 registrations were received. A good cross-section of staff attended.  Most were looking for new and innovative strategies to help them manage their challenging workload and find simple solutions to make them more productive.

Evidenced by participant feedback, their goals were certainly achieved.  Moreover, attendees were surprised by the energising effect that thinking quickly could generate. Research from the US suggests that the simple process of thinking quicker, makes you feel better!

So what is Speed Thinking?

According to Dr Hudson, “Speed Thinking is a generative system of thinking and acting that enables you and your team to produce better, faster results–literally in 120 seconds or less! You can achieve more in less time, feel energised, create breakthrough ideas and feel more confident with your decisions.”

Speed Thinking is simple, practical and can be used by anyone, of any age, in any role. Its fundamental principles can be applied to brainstorming, meetings, research, sales, customer service, problem solving and decision-making.  In short, any situation where time is limited and you are looking for immediate impact.

What were the tangible benefits?

Again, from the feedback received on the day, participants:

1. Discovered a new, express way of brainstorming that produced among the group, 111 ideas in two minutes vs 8 ideas under traditional means.
2. Learned a new way of interacting with a group starting with the individual.
3. Realized that drawing can be a powerful way to create bold new ideas.
4. Were amazed that we all have a tremendous capacity to think quickly when we need it and it can often lead to better results. Speed Thinking complements and extends what we do at the moment, much like a sprint at the end of a jog in the park.

Course evaluation comments included:

“Speed Thinking is really effective in making everyone more productive in their roles.”
“It really makes you think outside the square.”
“The course was energy-lifting and very interesting.”
“I will use this concept at work and in my personal life.”
“My colleagues will find it useful no matter what their role is.”
“An excellent course to energise creativity.”
“The tools are useful for everyone.”
